MARBLELIFE, Inc. was founded in 1988, to service a growing demand for stone, tile & grout restoration & after-installation care. By 1989 InterCare Cleanser was developed as the first truly marble-safe stone cleaner. 

What began as an effort to develop a unique line of care products, quickly expanded into development of restoration and care services and techniques. With a shortage of stone craftsman throughout the US, MARBLELIFE was conceived to develop a nationwide network of craftsman capable of providing a consistent high quality set of products and services throughout the country.

By 1990 it had become clear that MARBLELIFE's mission would need to expand to include the development of proprietary service capabilities in-order to meet customer demands and market growth requirements. Recognizing that good chemistry was not going to be enough Union Carbide sold the business in 1991 to Ed Williams an experienced entrepreneur with a track record of successful business ventures, including the leading MARBLELIFE franchise at the time.  

By 1993, MARBLELIFE was restoring granite.  With a committment to refining and optimizing marble and granite restoration techniques, MARBLELIFE quickly evolved industry leading productivity while delivering unsurpassed restoration quality.  By 2003 the business had expanded from 8 to 28 franchises, growing on the basis of quality word-of-mouth performance. 

The development of MARBLELIFE's proprietary maintenance processes enabled MARBLELIFE to provide its no-restoration-maintenance guarantee.  If MARBLELIFE maintained your floor and you cleaned it using MARBLELIFE's Intercare Cleanser MARBLELIFE would guarantee the floor would never need to be restored again.  These techniques enabled MARBLELIFE to provide superior commercial clients superior value and results to this day. 

In 2000, MARBLELIFE introduces Interlok a durable reactive floor finish designed to enhance color in slate and flagstone, while also imparting gloss, enabling interior designers to capture the full benefit of these surfaces potential.  Today, this technology compliments our MARBLELIFE GROUTLIFE COLORSeal grout restoration technology to provide some of the most dramatic slate and flagstone restorations you are likely to see. 

MARBLELIFE achieved a maintenance landmark as we successfully maintained a high traffic commercial lobby floor for 15 years without restoration, a feat most companies cannot maintain for 2 years today.  Today, MARBLELIFE delivers this type maintenance across the country. 

Between 2003 and 2006, MARBLELIFE expanded its network from 28 to 45 locations.  With each franchise addition, MARBLELIFE was able to marshal greater marketing resources to more efficiently communicate with its customers, while continuing to advance granite care and maintenance technques.  It is important to note, that MARBLELIFE remains committed to delivering quality, and as such limits the number of units it opens and develops each year.  We do not subscribe to the philosophy of opening several franchises in a market and letting them fight it out, but rather spends the time to select the right franchise partner up front, and then work with them to build a market dominant service organization capable of delivering the quality service MARBLELIFE has come to be known for.  As such, we seek to place one office in each DMA market. 

MARBLELIFE's GROUTLIFE services begin to take shape in 2004.  Recognizing that while most tile cleaning services delivered a clean floor, they could not generate a new-floor appearance, MARBLELIFE began developing grout restoration techniques and services.  By 2008, MARBLELIFE was ready to rollout its GROUTLIFE COLORSeal services offering a true grout restoration.  Today, regardless of how dirty, stained or ugly your grout is MARBLELIFE can restore it to a better-than-new state offering a fresh, clean new appearance, with superior stain protection.  This service effectively tripled the market potential for each franchise, and dramatically enhanced customer satisfaction in the ceramic and porcelain floor segments.

In 2007, MARBLELIFE completed the consolidation of its distribution, manufacturing facilities in Dallas, Texas and its R&D facilities in Sanford, Florida to a new corporate headquarters in Sanford, Fl.  By year's end, MARBLELIFE had completed the transition to manufacture all its stone care products under one roof.  Today, MARBLELIFE offers a full line of marble, stone, granite and tile care products, including unique offerings such as Marble Etch Remover, Soap Scum Remover and Max-Out Grout Cleaner.

MARBLELIFE's distribution arm, M.L.Distribution, completed its packaging redesign and expanded its marketing efforts targeting retail distribution for the first time with a product line that had been industry tested by more than 200 MARBLELIFE stone craftsman.  Refined to provide ease-of-use and productivity in addition to beautiful results.  MARBLELIFE's line is truly differentiated by our people, as our stone craftsman around the country stand behind the performance of our products, something no other product distributor can do.

By 2008, we serviced more than 50% of the North American population, delivering world class MARBLELIFE services locally.

Today, MARBLELIFE provides proprietary stone restoration, maintenance and care products and services to the leading hotels, commercial, business owners and entertainment people in the world in marble, granite, terrazzo, ceramic and porcelain segments.
Company History
  • 1988 MARBLELIFE® is founded to meet industry needs for consistent quality restoration services and stone care products.
  • 1989 MARBLELIFE introduces its proprietary INTERCARE stone cleaner – a non-acidic, stone safe cleaner capable of neutralizing acid spills and removing staining oils for home and commercial use.
  • 1991 MARBLELIFE is spun-off as an independent business, under the leadership of Ed Williams, the largest franchise operator, and proven restoration technique developer.
  • 1992-2000 MARBLELIFE expands throughout North America.
  • 1993 MARBLELIFE begins restoring granite.
  • 1993 MARBLELIFE rolls out its proprietary maintenance programs including MARBLELIFE’s no-more-restorations guarantee.
  • 1998 MARBLELIFE launches M.L. Distribution to provide stone care and education products to its clients so that they could maintain their restored surfaces.
  • 2000 MARBLELIFE introduces Interlok systems to enhance slate, flagstone and flamed granite color and sheen.
  • 2001 MARBLELIFE establishes their Road-Crew capable of servicing hotel and commercial maintenance accounts with monthly service anywhere across America.
  • 2003 MARBLELIFE achieves a landmark having maintained a property for 15 years in a restored appearance without the need to restore it.
  • 2007 MARBLELIFE launches its GROUTLife services enabling its service providers to restore ceramic and porcelain grout to its original color, and clean appearance.
