• Dull or White Marks Dull or etched marble and granite is more often the result of improper cleaning with an acidic cleaner. Most floor tile cleaners, vinegar and grout cleaners on the market today are acidic. While safe for tile these products will immediately begin to micro-pit natural marble, granite and other natural stone surfaces gradually taking off the shine. Often as the stone is dulling more aggressive and damaging cleaners are then tried, further and more rapidly damaging the surface of marble, granite and other natural stone. The bad news is that the more diligent your housekeeping and the more aggressive the cleaner employed the more time and energy will be required to restore this surface.
  
  
• Grout Discolored Grout will be scraped and sealed as part of the surface stain removal process. Corners and wall-to-floor intersections are notorious for moving as the house settles or breaths, and should be properly caulked to prevent intrusion of water behind the tile where they can do structural damage.
